Organizers
The Technical Workshop Marathon 2009 is organized jointly by the IEEE Student Branch of 
Model Engineering College, Thrikkakara. Kochi and IEEE Kerala Section GOLD Affinity Group Chairperson, Mr. Cejo K. L. Model Engineering College is a premier educational institution started under the auspices of the Institute of Human Resources Development (IHRD), a Government of Kerala undertaking. All eligible programs offered by the institution has been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). 


Objectives
IEEE, the world's leading professional association for the advancement of technology, is celebrating 125 years of "Engineering the Future". The series of technical workshops with hands-on sessions are organized as a part of the 125th anniversary celebrations of IEEE. The primary aim of the series of workshops is to educate the students and faculty of Model Engineering College on advanced DSP/FPGA development using various kit and EDA tools and also to introduce them to the various Free and Open Source Electronic Design Automation tools for VLSI and Embedded Systems design.

4 Introduction to ASIC Design Using Alliance VLSI CAD Tools and Physical Design Using Magic June 8 – June 9, 2009 Entry Free Completed the courses VLSI Design and ASIC Design
5 GNU Octave and Scilab June 10th, 2009 Entry Free No prerequisites for attending
6 Circuit Simulation Using Ngspice and Qucs June 11 – June 12 Rs. 100 No prerequisites for attending


Eligibility
Admissions are open for faculty members and students of any departments of Model Engineering College. Hands-on sessions of courses 1 and 3 can be only provided for faculty and students who have completed their sixth semester. 


How to Apply
Print the application form, fill it and submitting it with the course fee (if applicable) to the contact persons mentioned below atleast five days prior to the particluar workshop. No TA/DA will be provided. IEEE members can waive the course fee at the time of registration if they produce their IEEE member badge.


Venue
Model Engineering College Media Hall, Auditorium, VLSI/Advanced Projects Laboratory and Computer Centre.


Accommodation
Accommodation will not be provided. Participants will have to arrange it themselves.
