MEC wins El-juego

The tag line of Binoy memorial El-Juego 2010 was indeed justified as it was a visual treat for all those who were present at Estadio MEC. El Juego, an annual event celebrating the beautiful game called football was a seven day affair which began on the 21st of February 2010. As the name suggests, it was in memory of Binoy of the 2007 batch, one of the better Sports Secretary and students that MEC has had that El Juego was being conducted this time round. With 12 teams to battle it out, it was not the easiest of tasks to reach the final of Binoy memorial El-Juego 2010 with teams ranging from FISAT to SOE to TKM. At the end, it was the team of MEC-A and Adoor that were standing tall, waiting to face off. The crowd welcomed the final outcome of the match with a thunderous applause as MEC won in the penalty shootout with a final score of 1-0. The trophy was finally handed over to the MECians in the presence of the special guest ACP, Mr. PM Varghese and our honourable principal Prof.Dr. P Suresh Kumar.

Kerala Piravi Celebrations at MEC

50th year of Keralai Piravi (Birth of Kerala) was celebrated at MEC in a grand way. All the MECians including teachers looked great in traditional Kerala dresses. The Final year students organised a grand Sadya for all the teachers. They also organised various cultural programs for the teachers. The student-teacher interaction session turned out to be much enjoyable to both students and teachers. Our Principal Prof. Jyothi John Sir, enlightened us with his experiences in his student life. Few teachers brought out their hidden talents, like singing, after the interaction session. There was a Just A Minute (JAM) contest for the teachers. The final year students took classes for the junior batches to make sure that their regular classes were not hindered at the time of the event. The day turned out to be a memorable one for both teachers and students.
